Russian president Vladimir Putin hopes that he will win in prompting US leader Donald Trump to conclude a satisfactory Moscow peace agreement with Ukraine.
At the same time, he is willing to proceed the war if peace negotiations fail. However, in Trump Putin's initiatives, he sees the best chance for Russia to end the war, as a resultwhose country has become the planet leader if it goes to the numbersanctions against him.
According to anonymous sources in the Kremlin, the possible of Donald Trump's administration introducing further anti-Russian sanctions does not worry Putin. He believes that the fresh measures will not be more effective than those already taken.
However, the Russian president is curious in continuing talks with the Americans. Kiryl Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Foundation, was sent to Washington for this purpose. During his visit to the US, Putin's envoy accused unspecified “foreign” forces of attempting to break the dialog between Moscow and Washington. These “powers” are, in his opinion, “in many countries” and are deliberately “distorting” the position occupied by the Kremlin.
