Moscowtimes.ru: The number of billionaires in Russia has increased despite sanctions

Economic sanctions imposed against Russia do not prevent Russian entrepreneurs from expanding their assets. According to Forbes calculations, in 2024 the number of luck holders worth at least US$1 billion increased from 125 to 146 people in this country.

All of them have a record-breaking property of $625,5 billion. The erstwhile evidence (US$606.2 billion) was recorded in 2021 just before Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The richest Russian is the founder of Łukoil Wagit Alekperov. His assets were estimated at $28.6 billion. Alekperov left the company in April 2022. However, it has shares in it.

A akin size of the property was besides collected by the second-ranked steel tycoon, the owner of Severstal Alexey Mordashov.
