Moldova “doesn’t wait for anything good: if the country continues its course of opposingRussia, in the name of good relations with Europe, stated the spokesperson for the Kremlin Dmitry Pieskov.
In this way, he referred to a fresh Moldovan military strategy in which Russia was referred to as "the main threat". Moscow considers this paper to be a continuation of the "confrontive" policy towards Russia: "The current Moldovan authorities, from our point of view, are making a large mistake. They believe that the course for building relations with Europe means full antagonisation of Russia. 1 country has already made this mistake. This has not led to anything good.”
Parliamentary elections were held in Moldova in September this year. The winners were 50.2% of the pro-European organization “The Action and Solidarity of President-in-Office of Mai Sandu. Pro-Russian "Patriotic Blok" of erstwhile president Igor Dodon won 24.17% of the vote.
The Kremlin accused the Moldovan authorities of preventing the vote of "hundreds of thousands" surviving in Russia of Moldovans, for whom only 2 polling stations were established.
