More than half of Poles believe that the president should exercise chief executive power in the country. According to the latest poll of the Pollster investigation Institute, 52% of respondents are in favour of the president's greater power, while 38% like that the Prime Minister should have more competence.
The remaining 10% had no opinion on this. The survey was carried out in the context of plans by president Karol Nawrocki's law firm to start discussions on the division of competences between the president and the government.
The President's constitutional plans
Nawrocki announced in his first message that work on the draft fresh constitution should begin. The President's office wants to initiate a discussion on the redistribution of competences between the highest executive authorities.
According to a strategical communication expert, Dr. Sergius Trzezak, the results of the survey may consequence from the current political situation. Future strategy changes
