Marek Magierowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United States explained on the X portal (formerly Twitter) the position of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki regarding the state of arms of the Polish army and the further transfer of arms to Ukrainians.
According to the Polish Ambassador to the USA Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, contrary to what the media are presently writing, did not announce that Poland would halt supplying arms to Ukraine, but simply stated the fact.
– Prime Minister Morawiecki never said: Poland will halt supplying arms to Ukraine. This is simply a gross distortion of his statements. The exact quote is: [Now] we no longer hand over Ukraine's weapons. And accusing Poland of changing course and rhetoric is simply unfair – writes Magierowski. – ... Now we're gonna arm ourselves. Yes, due to the fact that in the last 17 months we've fundamentally gutted our troops for Ukraine's war effort. Poland is presently trying to address the depletion of its own capabilities.
Then Magierowski points out that according to Morawiecki, “teaching a country that has for years warned European allies about the increasing aggressiveness of Russia, which from the very beginning of the war has stood by Ukraine, which has supplied Ukraine with hundreds of tanks, aircraft, whaubice, tons of ammunition – is outrageous.”
And to think that until late the full government line denied that the Polish military was disarmed.
3. Lecturing a country which for years had been informing European allies about Russia’s increasing aggressiveness, which has stood by Ukraine from the very beginning of the war, which has supported with hundreds of tanks, with aircraft, howitzers, tons of ammo, is outrageous.
