On 15 July, the Bureau of Law and Justice adopted a resolution prohibiting organization members from operating in associations and foundations. Under the fresh rules, PiS politicians are to suspend their activities immediately in specified organisations – otherwise they are in danger of initiating a organization exclusion procedure. PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek explained that the resolution includes, among others, associations “Development Plus”, founded by Mateusz Morawiecki, and “After First Poland”, related to Jack Sasin.
The decision of the organization authorities caused surprise among the activists of "Development Plus". 1 associate of the association in an interview with “Fakt” admitted that his environment did not realize the position of the management of the Law and expected to talk to Mateusz Morawiecki. As he stressed, the organisation is an crucial base for the group.
You gotta halt the bad things that happen, take care of how to show the PiS program. Talking about the fact that the PiS is simply a problem for associations is simply a misassessment – the interviewer told the portal.
They will stay on "Development Plus"
However, the erstwhile Prime Minister does not intend to liquidate his initiative. According to Virtual Poland, “Development Plus” activists declare that they will proceed to operate. Politicians associated with the erstwhile Prime Minister announce that in the event of their removal from the Law and Justice, they will consider setting up a separate parliamentary club in the Sejm.
Morawiecki's environment is besides preparing a major social-political event to be held on 31 July in Warsaw with about a 1000 people. The members of the association emphasize that its aim is to strengthen the right-wing environment and make a program for the improvement of Poland, so they do not see the reasons for ending their activity.
Mateusz Morawiecki himself referred to the issue in an entry published on X.
We have a unique chance to build the large Poland that the generations dreamed of. We cannot lose sight of this goal by drowning in a swamp of conflict – announced the erstwhile Prime Minister on social media.
Splits in the PiS
The dispute around "Development Plus" falls into expanding tensions within the Law and Justice. Jacek Sasin, recognised as 1 of the political rivals of Mateusz Morawiecki in the fight for influences in the party, has late established his own association – “After First Poland”.
