The Pro-European Action and Solidarity organization won in the Moldovan parliamentary elections. A small over 50% of the decision-makers voted for it on September 28. The Patriotic Election Block, which has more ties to Russia than the European Union, was second in terms of the sympathy of voters. For many Moldovans, these elections were highly crucial due to the fact that they feared that the Action and Solidarity organization would lose its power to date. Yesterday's results give the Moldovans more hope of becoming part of the European Union and NATO.

Turnout in the Sunday election was over 53%.
