Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Holovnia initiated work on a bill prohibiting the usage of smartphones in primary schools. To this end, a gathering was held in the Sejm on Wednesday, 16 April, on the project. Many Members share the view of candidate 3rd Way for president and want the fresh rules to come into force over the coming months.

No Smartphones in Schools
"Today in the Sejm we started work on - in my opinion - a very crucial matter, that is to say, the preparation of assumptions for the bill on changing the policy of smartphones in Polish schools", said Hołownia at a press conference after the meeting. However, it turns out that it is inactive a long way before the ban applies.
- We have arranged for another gathering with fresh analyses and basic assumptions for the bill. I would like her to be in the Sejm this year and so that we can review her in a vote, and before that she will be well consulted with everyone afraid by this issue - stressed the presidential candidate. It's a national substance for us to take even more care of this safety today. And I hope that we will be able to sit on this substance over and over and over what is most crucial in our life," the Holovnia added.
No phones in schools is not all. A digital hygiene institute is to be established
Simon Holownia believes that the introduction of a ban on the usage of mobile phones by students in schools does not solve the problem. In his opinion, a national digital hygiene institute should besides be established, as well as training for parents to defend their children from online threats. "No 1 taught me how to make my kid safe in vulnerability to this digital planet he already uses," he noted.

More and more countries have already decided to ban students from utilizing mobile phones. In January 2025, Slovakia set this solution.
