Minister Sienkiewic puts public media in liquidation

There's a public media conflict going on. After president Duda decided to veto the budget bill for the year 2024, which included PLN 3 billion for the public media, Prime Minister Tusk announced that the said amount from the bonds would not go to TVP and would be passed on to kid oncology.

Meanwhile, this afternoon Minister Sienkiewicz announced “the liquidation of Polish tv S.A., Polish Radio S.A. and Polish Press Agency” He justified it with a presidential veto.

– In the present situation, specified action will safeguard the continued operation of these companies, carry out the essential restructuring in them and prevent workers from being laid off due to deficiency of funding. The liquidation can be revoked at any time by the owner – we read in the statement.
