International technological Conference at AWL

On 14–15 October 2025, the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Academy of Land Forces in Wrocław will host a prestigious event – an global technological conference devoted to lipaming as an analytical and training tool. The conference will bring together representatives of the army, academic community, defence manufacture and experts from Poland and abroad.

It will be the first specified undertaking of specified a wide scale organized in Poland to show the possible of lipaming in planning, analysis, training and decision-making processes, both in military and civilian contexts.

Conference objectives

Organizers aim to:

integration of lipaming environments in Poland and the world,

exchange of experience between military practices, game designers, scientists and manufacture representatives,

showing war games as a tool supporting both leadership training and strategical and operational analyses,

presenting fresh technologies and solutions to support decision-making in the field of safety and defence.

The conference will take 2 days and will include:

Official inauguration

The inaugural speech will be given by the Rector of the Academy of Land Forces. The ceremony will feature a presentation of the achievements of the AWL War Analysis technological ellipse and the launch of the AWL Rector's Cup Tournament in War Games.

Plenary sessions and discussion panels

Speeches and panels are planned in the following thematic areas:

Inauguration panel – “Wargaming as an analytical and training tool in the military and civilian environment”, run with recognized experts from Poland and abroad.

‘Wargaming not only for soldiers’ – application of games in the civilian sector, education and crisis management,

"New horizons for lipaming" – global trends and innovations, presentation of achievements and experiences developed on national grounds,

"Development of war games for professional analysis and command process" – expert experience in preparing the game system, visualizing gameplay elements and utilizing the latest technologies including artificial intelligence in the process of investigating war games

"The function of war games in adapting innovative technologies and tactics in the Armed Forces" - the usage of war games as a applicable tool to test fresh tactical technologies and concepts before their introduction into the Armed Forces.

AWL Rector Cup Tournament

The conference will be accompanied by the AWL Rector's Cup War Games Tournament, where military, academic and civilian teams will compete. The tournament aims to advance lipaming and to show its training and educational potential.

Exhibition Zone

AWL will host an exhibition space where companies, institutions and investigation centres will present their products and solutions in the field of lipaming, modern technologies, as well as applicable plan of war games and their components.

Guests and partners

The conference will be attended by representatives of Naval Postgraduate School (USA), Marine Corps University (USA), NATO JFTC, King’s College London, CNA, Ideas, as well as many manufacture experts and independent game designers. The event is besides supported by representatives of industry, state institutions and global organisations.

Accompanying course – “Professional Wargaming for Leaders”

On 16 and 17 October 2025, immediately after the conference, an intensive course entitled "Professional Wargaming for Leaders" will be held. It will be led by outstanding experts from Naval Postgraduate School – Prof. Jeff Appleget and Dr. Robert Burks. The course is addressed to officers, analysts and individuals liable for designing and moving war games in national cells. Participants will gain applicable experience in preparing, conducting and analysing the results of war games. Participation in the course is only possible for invited participants.

Registration and organisational issues

Registration of participants takes place through the authoritative website of the conference.

Registration deadline for abroad guests is 28 September 2025.

National participants may registry until a later date specified on the event page. The organiser reserves the right to limit applications to the limit of seats in the Hall of Academic Cultural Centre.

Admission to the conference is only possible after registration – no registration is foreseen on the day of the event.
The conference is free of charge for participants.
