A Canadian who admitted assistance in 14 suicides in Ontario state may have been associated with up to 147 deaths worldwide. specified findings were presented by the public broadcaster CBC, citing judicial papers and discussions with the victims' families.
It has so far been confirmed in 14 cases from 2021 to 1923, but the scale may be much higher. The CBC points out that the full number of victims will most likely never be established due to the fact that not all cases have been reported to law enforcement. According to investigators, a man sold toxic substances online for years, knowing that any clients could usage it to take their own life. Police estimation they sent at least 1.2 1000 shipments to over 40 countries. Only in the United States would it buy more than 400 people from it.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the fishy was aware of the intent of the product being utilized by him. In 1 of the talks, however, he claimed that he was only selling, not helping with suicides.
The man was detained in 2023 in Ontario. Investigations were besides carried out in respective another countries, including the UK, Australia, Germany and fresh Zealand.
