In the 3rd “annual” conflict in Ukraine, there is an expanding number of discussions on Poland's security. 1 of the voices in this debate is the message by Sławomir Mentzen, a Confederate candidate for President, who on the X portal shared his assessment of the geopolitical situation and defence possible of the Republic. His words caused a stormy reaction, especially in the context of Poland's preparations for a possible armed conflict.
“We had a fewer years to do this” – Mentzen about deficiency of preparation
Sławomir Mentzen in his entry left no illusions as to the state of Poland's preparations in case of war. – "It has been 3 years since the outbreak of the war, and we have not yet begun to build even 1 artillery factory, which our yearly production is adequate for 3 days of combat" – wrote the politician.
Mentzen stressed that Poland was not prepared for a possible armed conflict. – “We had a fewer years to do this, which unfortunately we wasted” – he added. In his opinion, the deficiency of action in this area is hard to understand. – "Completely, I don't understand. Is it truly hard for our politicians to foretell that weapons and ammunition are needed in the war?” – asked rhetorically.
The politician besides expressed hope that the war in Ukraine would rapidly end and Ukraine would defend its independence. – "I hope this war is over soon, Ukraine will defend itself and no Polish politician will think of sending our soldiers there” He summarized.
Mentzen electoral programme: Pensions, migration and security
During the Saturday presidential convention, Sławomir Mentzen besides presented the main demands of his election program. 1 of the key points is the improvement of the pension system. – "Retirement taxes must be abolished as shortly as possible, contributions from pensioners must be abolished. Pensioners should be treated taxation and contributionally the same as students. No contributions and taxes on pensions, on retirement income’ – he noted.
The politician besides criticized the sending of social benefits, specified as 800 plus, to Ukraine. – "What Polish payer has an interest in financing social people surviving in Ukraine? What is the reason for this?” He asked.
Mentzen besides recalled the Confederation's strong opposition to the "open door" policy for mass migration. – "The common sense, simple common sense, besides requires that immigrants from Asia, Africa, countries different from Poland should not enter Poland culturally. All over Western Europe, where immigrants, from Africa, from the mediate East, appear, crime is increasing dramatically. There crime reaches levels absolutely unimaginable for us, for Poles” – he said.
