Sławomir Mentzen declared on Friday that, if he became president, he would anticipate the Council of Ministers to adopt his laws; otherwise he would veto government laws. There will be no “soft game” – said fresh Hope organization president and 1 of the Confederate leaders on Friday in Płock.

In late August at the Mentzen electoral convention, he officially announced his start in the next year's presidential election. On Friday, the politician organized an open gathering in the Old marketplace Square, where he said, among another things, that he did not agree with the expression that "this president is expected to be specified a puppet who is not to disturb the government".

If I become president, I'll anticipate the government to either adopt my laws or I'll veto him. There will be no “soft game” here. If the government wants me to sign him a bill, he'll gotta adopt my bill first, whether it's deregulation any kind of bureaucracy, whether it's reducing, simplifying taxes, or whatever else. – he noted.

According to Mentzen, "the presidency should be active and independent". He argued that he himself was “exceptionally independent, both financially and politically” because, as he said, “there is no organization president over himself”.

The politician besides estimated that Poles were utilized to all erstwhile terms, that "the president is individual who can't do anything, who watches the chandelier, handing out orders, pardoning criminals, having any receptions, sometimes saying something in a speech that nobody listens to."

If I had won this election, I would have been the most active president, but not in terms of the number of awarded orders or pardoned criminals, and complex draft laws and veto bill designs – declared Mentzen. To-date Mentzen accused that, as he said, they "obediently agree to everything that came out of the Sejm", with little than 1% of the laws.

Mentzen noted that he besides frequently hears the charge that he is not fit to be president of Poland, due to the fact that he is besides small diplomatic, besides stubborn and after the dead he pursues the goal. – Yeah, that's the truth, that's who I am. He said, at the same time, adding that, in his opinion, the problem of the erstwhile presidents was that they could not "resist" and, for example, refuse to sign under the law due to the fact that it is harmful.

Mentzen declared that, if he became president, he would not sign any government that would complicate or rise taxes or any that he would consider harmful, regardless of how many organization presidents he said would encourage him and how many ambassadors would express very profound discontent. In his opinion, we should halt with the fact that the Presidents and Prime Ministers of Poland, “are constantly adjusting to someone, at abroad meetings they walk so quietly on their fingers that God forbid they offend abroad feelings.”

Calling for participants, the politician said, among others: We cannot be the generation which in future will be written in textbooks as the 1 that decided to complete the task of the thousand-year-old Polish state. According to Mentzen, Poles cannot “give sovereignty to Brussels and Berlin”, cannot “be replaced by immigrants” and cannot be unprepared in terms of defence for a possible confrontation with Russia.

I have a deep conviction that we are able, as a nation, to accomplish large things, we are able to build a strong, rich Poland. And I have a deep conviction that I know how to do this. said Mentzen, adding that this is why he decided to run in the next year's presidential election.

Mentzen is the first candidate to declare his start in the next presidential election to take place in 2025. These elections have not yet been officially ordered – according to the Constitution, they are managed by the Marshal of the Sejm on a day not earlier than 100 days and not later than 75 days before the end of the word of office of the President.
