Rafał Trzaskowski met with Marshal Simon Holovnia in the Sejm on 20 May. On the spot, journalists asked him if he would accept the invitation of Sławomir Mentzen.
– I am ready to talk to the voters of all my counter-candidates. I'm not gonna make a discrimination here. I saw Mr. Mentzen's postulates. I realize that these are the issues that he cares about, first of all his constituents. With many of these demands I agree, so I think there will be no problem – he said what Onet quotes.
The president of Warsaw pointed out that the key factors in the talks with voters are not leaders, but the demands and expectations of people. – The most crucial are voters who request to talk calmly and treat them in a subjective way. And that's what I promise them," he said.
Trzaskowski drew attention to the voice of young people in this election. He announced that he would perceive to the demands and assured that he would respond to the ideas. The KO candidate has not yet made it clear whether he accepts the invitation of the Confederate Leader.
Trzaskowski responds to Mentzen's invitation
As we wrote in naTemat.pl, Sławomir Mentzen posted an entry on X on Tuesday morning, where he presented his proposal.
– There is no better way to convince my constituents than to appear on my social media. My constituents don't watch your TV, they don't buy your media propaganda. They usage social media, they watch my stuff. If you care about their voices, convince them to each other," he wrote.
During the meeting, the leader of the Confederacy will put on the table declarations which he claims is in line with the voters' expectations. Here is what the paper contains:
1. I will not sign any bill that raises existing taxes, contributions, fees or introduces fresh fiscal burdens.
2. I will not sign any law limiting cash turnover and will stand defender against Polish gold.
3. I will not sign any law limiting the freedom of expression in accordance with the Polish Constitution.
4. I will not let Polish soldiers to be sent to Ukraine.
5. I will not sign the Act on ratification of Ukraine's accession to NATO.
6. I will not sign any law limiting Poles' access to weapons.
7. I will not agree to transfer any powers of the authorities of the Republic of Poland to the bodies of the European Union.
8. I will not sign ratification of any fresh EU treaties weakening Poland's role, e.g. by weakening the vote or taking distant the right of veto.
Karol Nawrocki has already announced on platform X that he intends to take advantage of the political invitation. He besides assured that "he is ready to sign these proposals".
