Less spiritual lessons. MEN have decided
– This is not only our election commitment, the specifics we promised, but besides common sense. So far, young people had more lessons of religion than biology, chemistry, physics, WOS, education for safety together – the minister pointed out. The regulation provides that lessons of religion or ethics will take place immediately before or immediately after another activities.
The Regulation besides introduces the same rules for bringing together student groups that apply at school if spiritual lessons are organised outside school – in an inter-school group or in an extra-school catechist.
The anticipation of merging grade I-III primary school students was limited. This will only be possible if less than 7 students declare to participate in spiritual activities.
Deputy Minister Lubnauer on concessions for the Church
The day before the signing of this regulation, Deputy Minister Katarzyna Lubnauer argued that the Ministry of Education had made concessions to the church side. As an example, a decision distant from the rigid rule that spiritual lessons must take place at the beginning or at the end of the day. From now on, an exception will be allowed if the full class enrolls in religion.
– If 100 percent of children go to spiritual lessons in a given class, then she may not be the first and not the last, but in a situation where no 1 has to wait, this is the basic condition – said Lubnauer.
– We did everything we could to consult that decision with the Church. We realize that the dimension of 1 hr is reasonable," said the politician, referring to the simplification in the number of spiritual lessons.
