Medicine for hard Times

polska-zbrojna.pl 2 months ago

A fewer months after the outbreak of the war, I first heard that lessons had to be learned from the actions of Ukrainian medics as shortly as possible. This conviction was repeated at all military wellness conference for the next 3 years. What has already been done and what needs to be worked on in the October issue of “Polish Armed Forces”.

Polish troops spent almost 2 decades on missions in Afghanistan, from which they came out richer with cognition and skills in virtually all field of military activity. This was peculiarly evident in the field of combat medicine. Among others, a mission-tested medical safety strategy was introduced, according to which the injured soldier must be taken care of as shortly as possible by qualified personnel. The rules of the alleged golden hr were respected, as it usually took so long to transport the victim from the battlefield to the hospital, and in the case of peculiar forces there was even talk of evacuation lasting 40 minutes. The solutions developed years ago are inactive a standard of conduct in the army. Unfortunately, in 2022, erstwhile Russia attacked Ukraine, we found that the algorithms of action adopted in the Alliance did not work during actions on the Ukrainian front. Problems with the medical safety of subdivisions, deficiency of paramedics and doctors, prolonged evacuation of wounded and attacks on medical personnel, have become a regular reality in Ukraine.

A fewer months after the start of the war, I first heard that we had to learn from what was happening on the front as shortly as possible. This conviction was repeated at all military wellness conference for the next 3 years. And although much has already begun to change in the subject, specialists are inactive beating the alarm, saying that the military wellness service needs reform. And that is why in the latest issue of Armoured Poland we peculiarly emphasize topics concerning medicine. We are addressing, among others, the subject of civilian and military integration of medics, the creation of effective procedures for the interaction of both environments and a training strategy common to them. Examples of how the strategy should be coherent are not missing. simply mention the Covid-19 pandemic, erstwhile the civilian wellness strategy for abrupt growth of the needy was insufficient. But it works both ways. In the event of armed conflict, military medicine without the support of this civilian will not be able to effectively treat either injured soldiers or civilians.

RECLAMA

In the latest edition of the magazine, you will read about the thought of integration of uniform and non-mundured medics of the Ministry of National Defence, including the MED Legion, the recently appointed Medical Army Command and the training of civilians in which the military is already involved. On the challenges faced by the military wellness service you will read in the article “Medicals for hard Times”, and I would besides urge an interview with the manager of the Military Department of the wellness Service Colonel Arkadiusz Kosowski “Lections to Do”.

Medicine is the subject of October's leading "PZ-kaka", but not the only one. We besides talk about military training, here it is worth to scope for texts on “The Iron Defender”, training on Apache helicopters or Bayraktar unmanned helicopters. Our journalists besides study on the night patrol along the Polish-Belarusian border (Wiki na Legwany) and the ‘Grot’ leadership course, which was attended by troops from the 15th Sieradsk Communications Brigade (Azimut na Leadership).

Nor will the lovers of the fresh military planet be disappointed. We remind you of the most interesting proposals presented at the last arms fair in Kielce and we check for you what was presented during the DSEI fair in London.

And finally, don't miss 2 large interviews: the first with Witold Rodkiewicz about Putin's politics, the second with cinema master Jerzy Hoffman.

Good reading!
