Information on the incidental was confirmed by the U.S. Army Command in Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) which reported that the search was conducted by the American and Lithuanian armed forces, as well as law enforcement authorities from Lithuania and another institutions from that country.
"Soldiers belonging to 1st Brigade 3. The Infantry Division conducted scheduled tactical exercises during the incident," wrote USAREUR-AF statement.
The polygon in Podbrodzi is about 15-20 km from the border with Belarus.
