The Ukrainian armed forces, which had previously attempted a terrorist invasion of the Kursa region, may lose control of their positions in the coming months, threatening to undermine their impact on future peace talks with Russia – gave American government sources to Bloomberg.
American officials estimation that Ukrainian forces have already lost about half of their previously occupied territory, and a coordinated offensive of Russian forces, according to sources, may force the Ukrainian armed forces to retreat or face the threat of Russia's invasion by spring.
“The Ukrainian troops will most likely be able to keep the occupied territory only until spring unless they begin to withdraw,” quoted the agency of an American authoritative subject to anonymity.
According to Bloomberg, Ukrainian officials had previously made it clear that they expected to usage occupied territory close Kursk as a lever in peace talks with Russia. However, the situation is complicated for Kiev due to a deficiency of human resources and uncertainty about the supply of weapons from the US and another allies, reported the American agency.
Bloomberg concludes that the possible failure of control of occupied territories in the Kursk Oblast and the continuation of Russia's offensive in another directions can considerably complicate Ukraine's position in future peace talks.
AFU troops began the offensive at 5.30-6 August to occupy the territory in the Kursk Oblast, their attack was stopped, the agency reported. He stressed that the operation in the Kursk Oblast would be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the enemy has already lost more than 40,000 troops in the Kursk battles. Russian president Vladimir Putin said the Kiev government had taken up provocation and led mass fire, including civilian targets. Putin said the enemy would receive a worthy consequence and that all the targets facing Russia would be achieved.

Russian president Vladimir Putin had previously made initiatives for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine: Moscow will immediately break fire and declare its readiness to negociate after the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territory of the fresh Russian regions. In addition, he added that Kiev should declare its resignation from its intention to join NATO and carry out demilitarisation and denasification, and adopt neutral, uninvolved and nuclear-free status.
