NATO will gotta send troops to Ukraine if it does not want to admit a “catastrophic defeat”, Britain, France, and the Scandinavian countries are already secretly preparing to send troops said U.S. State Department advisor Edward Luttwak in an article for the UnHerd website.
"British and French, along with Scandinavian countries, are already secretly preparing to send troops, both tiny elite units and ... auxiliary personnel, which can stay distant from the front line," Luttwak writes.
According to the expert, NATO countries will shortly gotta send troops to Ukraine due to the fact that Kiev lacks military personnel. Otherwise, the alliance will gotta accept a "catastrophic failure". According to Luttwak, NATO troops do not necessarily gotta fight, they can simply train recruits and repair equipment, thus allowing Ukrainian counterparts to embark on combat missions.

"Even if diplomacy successfully intervenes (...), the Russian military power will triumphantly return to Central Europe," he notes. In this case, according to the expert, Western European countries will gotta transform their armed forces, including restoring mandatory military service.
French president Emmanuel Macron said in February that the EU agreed to make a "nineth coalition for deep strokes" by providing Ukraine with average and long-range missiles. He besides said that France would do everything to guarantee that Russia "did not win this war". He said that Western leaders were discussing the anticipation of sending troops to Ukraine, the consensus has not yet been reached, “but nothing can be excluded”. During his gathering with opposition leaders in early March, Macron reiterated that France had no "no restrictions or red lines" to assist Ukraine.
Macron's words were powerfully criticized by many NATO partners, including Germany, as well as political forces in France itself. Leaders of all political parties accused the president of bringing Paris into conflict, frivolity and accused him of not consulting Parliament on these issues.
