Oskar's parent may leave the prison

It is agreed that the parent of a four-month-old kid who died in foster care should leave the prison. The Penitentiary Commission has decided that further punishment will be carried out by a female in an electronic surveillance system.

Oscar W. died a fewer days after he was placed in foster care as a consequence of his mother's arrest by the police. The case became public, among others, due to the fact that Magdalene W. was brought to the child's ceremony in handcuffs in the assistant officers.

The Prison Service conducts interior control in this case and is besides dealt with by the Ombudsman.

The circumstances of the child's death are examined by experts. The autopsy showed circulatory respiratory failure as a possible origin of death for the boy.
