You have cash, you have a choice. Throw it in!

Do you have candles at home and a battery radio? I'm asking due to the fact that late British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden called on citizens to buy them. Why? due to the fact that they will be needed erstwhile the fresh crisis comes, e.g. due to the deficiency of electricity (blackout). Is it worth being ready for another paralysis? Yeah, that makes sense. And that's more and more likely. past is the best of teachers. Let me remind you: in 2008 the planet was shaken by the financial crisis, in 2020 the coronavirus pandemic broke out, since 2022 there has been a war in Ukraine abroad. And we've late experienced a malfunction of the GPS communications system.

Interestingly, the UK Deputy Prime Minister does not encourage cash at home. Why? This is translated by Brett Scott, with whom I spoke in the civilian Affairs Week, in an interview ‘War on cash’:

"Five years ago in London people utilized many forms of payment, utilized cash, utilized cards. Now, if you go to London, in many places the usage of cash is almost impossible.

And people someway believe it came from them, that they pushed the change, but it's not true. It was a change that was launched by the corporate sector. In Britain, where I have lived for a long time, politicians specified as Boris Johnson besides turn to places full of acquainted bankers who are part of the same social class. So erstwhile these politicians form their sense of what is average and what is expected in the world, they frequently draw them from the social circles in which they live. These in most cases belong to another elite classes. And within these elites frequently comes the thought that what should be done is to suck people into an ever-increasing dependence on large institutions, which the elite class actually manages."

In 2008, during the financial crisis, we were all 1 step distant from the global war, 1 step distant from the edge of the abyss. Politicians in the United Kingdom and bankers in London City bought weapons, prepared evacuations of their families to the countryside, “chommed” food, paid money from ATMs and bought gold. The citizens were unaware of what was happening. Are they conscious today? Are you aware? And most importantly, are you and your household ready?

No power in the socket

What if there's a cyber attack on our country's energy infrastructure and there's no power in the sockets? The screen of your smartphone will go out. The payment terminals in the stores will halt working. Your Blik and Visa or Mastercard payment cards will become useless.

Without cash, you won't be able to buy water and food.

There will be trams, trains, electrical cars. Waterworks, sewage and heat pumps will halt operating. And radiators in your apartment.

Poles and Poles will throw themselves at ATMs. Just like they did during the fresh financial crisis. During six days of October 2008, citizens collected a full of over PLN 8 billion.

Panic besides occurred in 2020 (the detonation of the coronavirus pandemic) and 2022 (the detonation of the war in Ukraine). Look at the charts from the National Bank of Poland documents.

The average regular value of banknotes and coins taken from NBP in March 2020 compared to the same period of the erstwhile year increased from PLN 807,8 million to PLN 179,91 million, i.e. by 121.7%.

"Since 24 February 2022, due to Russian aggression in the territory of Ukraine, there has been an over-average increase in request for cash in Poland (Figure 101). During the period of increased collection of the Polish currency during 8 operating days (i.e. 24 February – 7 March 2022), banks charged PLN 5.3 billion a day from NBP. This value corresponded to 7 times the average regular downloads from NBP from the unchangeable period, i.e. 2021 (PLN 0.7 billion). On 28 February 2022 the highest collection of PLN 12.5 billion was historically recorded. This value represented 17 times the average regular collection of 2021. As a result, from 24 February to 7 March 2022 the banks collected PLN 42 billion from the NBP. This amount is akin to the value of the Polish currency taken from the NBP in the full first 4th of 2021 (44 billion PLN)" – says the paper “Assessing the functioning of the Polish payment strategy in the first half of 2020” prepared by the Department of Emissions and Treasury (DES) NBP.

Be ready!

"It was always so that everyone had access to the battery radio. And how many people present have a communication device that is not dependent on digital and electrical technologies? We should not presume that the resilience we had erstwhile we were increasing up is the same now that society has been digitized," said Deputy Prime Minister Olivier Dowden during his visit to Porton Down, a British military laboratory. The British press took note.

If I were Deputy Prime Minister of the Polish Government, I would ask from the Sejm Court,

How many Poles and Poles have cash in the home today, which is not dependent on digital and electrical technologies.

Unfortunately, no of the government, old and new, has asked specified a question to this day. My intuition tells me that no 1 is going to ask it in the future. And not just due to the joyous ignorance that fresh technologies will save us. But besides due to different systems and connections at the interface of power-lobby large techs. That's why it's worth looking at your hands on the subject of cash.

And for those who have a short memory, I remind you of what Simon Holovnia, the talker of the Sejm today, said about cash:

Short Ball: You gotta finish with cash and accept digital money; I was tempted to put out a constitution with a vial of tears on the WOŚP action@RadioZET_NEWS#Guest RadioZETOrganisation#Rymanowski

We request you! Throw it in.

In Poland there is the best non-cash propaganda. Visa, Mastercard, PSP – Polish Payment Standard (BLIK) promotes in the morning, evening, day and night. In the press, radio, tv and the Internet. Nobody warns citizens what happens erstwhile the power goes out. Politicians, journalists, experts, celebrities mostly underestimate the causative value of cash.

That's why we request you! Throw it in. – aid us produce a place in defence of cash.

The civilian Affairs Institute has been moving a social run to defend cash since 2020. We argue its liquidation. We don't want to become modern slaves without a choice.

If you besides want to have a choice, add yourself to the collection for the place production (promotion video) and aid us convince as many people as possible that cash is and will be needed! The substance is very urgent.

And time, all of us, is moving out!

We want to make a place in defence of cash:

1/ Because cash is freedom and privacy.who are little and little in our regular lives. With cash, you'll buy everywhere and always. Even from the side of the road.

2/ Because the non-cash Polish lobby is awake. The war on cash continues at its best, evidence of this, inter alia, the deficiency of a adequate number of coins in circulation, resulting in difficulties in spending the remainder on purchases in shops and markets, the introduction by banks of limits on withdrawals at ATMs, the liquidation of branches of banks allowing the payment of cash in the “window”, the simplification of the number of ATMs, the limits of cash payments.

3/ Because we have proven many times that social force makes sense! The same was actual of defending payment limits in cash in 2023 and accepting cash payments. For example, under the influence of the social pressures that we started with the run “Cash Gun!” The Sejm adopted (actually unanimously –437 votes) and the president signed a bill which imposes an work on retailers in Poland to accept payments in cash. Another success is the withdrawal of the Government, dictated by the opposition of citizens, from the introduction of the limit of cash payments to PLN 20 thousand.

4/ Because liquidating cash is excluding those who do not want or cannot usage payment cards. It's control and surveillance of what you're doing.

5/ Because cash keeps you and your household safe.If there was a cyber-weapon attack on critical infrastructure. Or remember what happened erstwhile the lockdown was announced during the coronavirus or erstwhile the war in Ukraine broke out. Remember the panic and the deficiency of money at the ATMs? Imagine turning the power off for days or weeks.

6/ Because over 80 percent of Poles do not want cash withdrawn from circulation — points out an IBRiS survey conducted for Radio Zet.

7/ And most importantly. Because you have the right to choose!

Yeah, I want to contribute to the fundraiser.
