Albert Pike's books published in Poland in the series “Etos and Doctrine of the Masonry of the Scots Rituary of the erstwhile and the Recognized” became a circumstantial feneomen. Since each of them is published in a strictly limited edition of 333 copies, it is not possible for each reader of Masonic literature to have his copy. There are 33 volumes planned, so far two, with degrees Student and Choladnik, in preparation is (seen in September, presale has not yet begun) volume three, concerning the Master level. The books are translated and provided with very easy reading of footnotes by the well-known Polish free-murderer, Klaus Dąbrowski. But for this publication, there is simply a circumstantial challenge: It is highly likely that fresh Readers, attempting to join the acquisition of the series, e.g. from Volume 15, will have a problem completing the full and obtaining at the first price of its first volumes.
Book 1 – “The Student”When the pre-sale started, it originally only cost PLN 29. As the effort ran out, the price increased to PLN 69. After the book was released the interest was expanding and the book was sold at 100, 150 and yet the last copies available from the publisher are available at 200 PLN. In the same way, Volume Two, whose pre-sales has just ended and it presently costs PLN 125.
It is worth comparing this interesting phenomenon with the book of the same publisher (TRIALOG) “The Masonic Symbol of the 3rd Millennium” Irene Maingay. This publication was sold at 120 PLN per copy, but after the sale of the effort (1000 copies) the price in services specified as Allegro increased to as much as 390 PLN and higher amounts, until finally, a fewer months ago, it had a pirate print (a much lower quality).
One can so conclude that the Polish series of works by Albert Pike shows striking structural and economical similarities to the digital asset, Bitcoin. Both systems base their fundamental value on 2 pillars: uncommon and demand-driven deflation. Supply is completely closed and known in advance – this prevents full marketplace demand. utmost scarcity and advanced prices on the secondary marketplace led to the emergence of a pirated overprint of much lower quality, and similarly, alternate versions (hard forks, e.g. Bitcoin Cash), which effort to replicate the success of the original, but seldom gain its position and trust of the community, were created.
So will Polish masons be paying themselves with “paces” soon?
