Częstochowa 1944-1945
In January 1945, Marshal Ivan Koniew, leading the Red Army to Berlin, stopped at Częstochowa to regroup the troops. He occupied the quarters and worked on strategical plans at a table with maps. Then a female appeared before him, dressed black, wearing a black scarf on her head, and turned to him in Russian: Go and start the offensive on Czestochowa immediately!
Having said that, she left. The horse, powerfully surprised, ran out of the quarters and asked soldiers keeping watch: “Where is the female who was with me?” But they replied: “There was no female here!’
Marshal Koniev, returning to his quarters, not reasoning much, withdrew his erstwhile order, and issued a new, ordering you to leave immediately for Czestochowa. On 16 January 1945, troops of the Ukrainian Front under the orders of Marshal Konev captured the city without 1 shot! The attack was so violent that the Nazis failed to demolish the city.
One of the paulin brothers mentioned:
This hr of liberation came suddenly... [...] And the Germans on Jasna Góra knew absolutely nothing that the russian troops were already here. As they learned, [...] there was a terrible panic. [...] the nuns all prayed; there was just an hr of prayer and we were in the chapel. [...]
One of our friars went to ask what they would do now. This commandant replied that in specified a case he had orders, under the death penalty, to burn Jasna Góra as he withdrew from here. The monastery was on alert. Everyone who took refuge here and the nuns, nobody slept. I was designated an observer. [...]
By 23 o'clock, the Germans had placed 8 petrol drums in the monastery courtyard. And these barrels were lined up, and they uncapped, and so it all went down. At the same time, where Arsenal was, there was a immense pile of blankets dragged out, too, with gasoline. And in front, where specified a mosaic of stones was arranged, they stopped the truck, loaded with explosives, and they poured gasoline all over it. But again, there were any detonations and they escaped. They only partially set fire to it.” (...)
On January 24, Marshal Ivan Koniev, surrounded by officers' staff, entered a Jasna Góra sanctuary. After facing the image of Our Lady, he said: "Это ОНА сегодня была меня меня! [ She was at my home that day! ]
He pulled his hand twice over his face, took his hat off, bowed low, and left. And behind him, the staff. The officers were seriously afraid about the behaviour of Konev and his astonishing statement. They thought the marshal was crazy! Finally, they dared to ask why he said something so strange. Koniev explained: As in this painting, there was a female who gave me specified a firm command that I had no another thought but this 1 to order an offensive immediately on Czestochowa!
