W Hotels in Punta Cana

The debut of W Punta Cana represents a milestone in the evolution of W Hotels, a brand known for its daring design and vibrant social energy.

Traditionally associated with urban hotspots and lifestyle-focused resorts, W Hotels is expanding its footprint into the adults-only, all-inclusive market with a fresh perspective.

The resort offers an expansive collection of suites, all starting at 700 square feet, with exclusive king-size configurations and premium touches such as bathtubs, maxi bars, and in-room dining.

Forty-six suites feature swim-up pools, while select premium accommodations include private pools overlooking the ocean.

Every design element integrates Caribbean heritage and natural influences, from larimar-inspired décor to architectural motifs drawn from colonial history and native flora.

Distinctive Design and Local Inspiration

The property’s design, led by Spain-based Zanobia Arquitectura, blends modern luxury with authentic Dominican character. Interiors reflect the textures of local tobacco plantations, vibrant cobblestone streets, and the country’s iconic larimar stone.

Landscaping prioritizes endemic flora and low-density layouts to maintain an open, village-like atmosphere, offering both social gathering spots and secluded retreats.

Communal areas include a 400-meter beachfront, the signature WET Deck with an 80-meter infinity pool, and a quieter Chill Pool with a swim-up bar. Together, these spaces balance the brand’s energetic vibe with the region’s natural tranquility.

Culinary Experiences That Set a New Standard

Dining is central to W Punta Cana’s identity, with 12 unique restaurants, bars, and lounges. Trade Market introduces a food hall concept inspired by global street food.

Scena elevates Caribbean and Dominican flavors in a refined setting. Other highlights include Noodle Bar for Asian street fare and Sensazioni, a hybrid event space and bar.

The beverage program takes an innovative approach, featuring Taproom, a modern microbrewery-inspired space; Taman Beach Club, a social hub that transitions from day to night; and Living Room Bar, which reimagines cocktails with local infusions.

For a more intimate setting, 33 1/3 Speakeasy pairs mixology with vinyl records for curated late-night experiences.

Other Features of the Hotel

Programming is designed to foster connection while highlighting Dominican culture. Guests can expect DJ-led sound baths, rooftop sessions, live performances curated with local artists, and late-night silent discos. Partnerships with Dominican creative collectives bring a strong sense of place to the entertainment lineup.

The AWAY Spa offers 10 treatment rooms with therapies inspired by local ingredients such as moringa oil and arnica. Facilities include a Himalayan salt room, sauna, steam room, and an indoor pool. The property also houses a full-service salon and a 24-hour FIT gym. Outdoor wellness experiences like sunrise yoga integrate the resort’s wellness ethos with Punta Cana’s natural setting.

W Insiders and the Whatever/Whenever team curate personalized excursions, from yacht charters to national park visits. The resort also caters to business and events, with 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space across nine venues, including a 5,380-square-foot ballroom.

Expanding W Hotels’ Global Presence

The opening of W Punta Cana strengthens Marriott International’s commitment to lifestyle and luxury travel in Latin America.

Two more W all-inclusive resorts are scheduled to open in Mexico’s Playa del Carmen and Costa Mujeres by 2029. This marks the brand’s broader push into a segment that is redefining expectations of all-inclusive hospitality.
