Faith
For believing in Poland
He lost both hands.
nothing – you can paint without hands
metal rim and brush will do
to last the forest of insurgents
with an old oak guard
You can come to your own funeral
with memory of forest graves
and proceed to believe in life
- possibly even more.
You can go in a cold cell.
draw without a word of complaint
Poland – a girl with a cow
carrying water alive
In spite of the world

Ludomir Benedictovich (1844 – 1926), forester, painter, associate in the January uprising, in which he lost both hands. He painted his works with a brush, feather or coal attached to the forearm of the metallic rim.
