On television, the Republic, Marek Jakubiak – a well-known entrepreneur and politician – confirmed that he would compete in the 2025 presidential election. Jakubiak, associated for years with the widely understood Republican movement, announced his decision to stand as the leader of the recently formed Free Republican Formation, having his representation in the Sejm.
Jakubiak's decision to take off in the presidential race is not only part of his individual political career, but besides a way to advance a fresh political formation – Free Republicans. The parliamentary wheel of this name officially began operations in the Sejm on October 16. The free Republicans came from the transformation of the previously existing Kukiz’15 parliamentary circle, which had entirely joined Jacobiak’s fresh initiative.
In the context of the election launch, Marek Jakubiak expressed the belief that the Free Republican movement had a chance to effectively scope voters looking for alternatives on the Polish political stage. "Marek Jakubiak has already decided on his start-up, which is simply a key step in promoting the fresh initiative", stressed the paper "Rzeczpospolita".

Until now, only the Confederate has officially announced its candidate – Sławomir Mentzen, but in the coming weeks their decisions are besides to uncover another parties. The PiS is scheduled to announce the candidate before 7 December, the Civic Coalition is likely to do so on the same day, as well as the Left. The start of Jakubiak so introduces a fresh component to compete for the highest office in the state, suggesting that the fight for the presidency will be varied and full of surprises.
