Marder in the war. "Working horse" grenadier armored weapons of Ukraine

Ukraine's Defence Forces, preparing for the offensive in mid-2023, clearly hoped for equipment from western production, including M2A2 Bradley, CV90, or Marder-1A3, which were expected to constitute an armored infantry fist in assault and assault battalions. At that time, however, there were fewer of these carts, larger quantities began to appear after the anti-poro offensive. The same was actual of the Marders, who only started to flow into Ukraine in the last months. The German national government has waited a long time with approval to hand over Marder's combat infantry wagons. While waiting for this step, Rheinmetall started repairing its wagons at its own expense in the spring of 2022, pending approval for transfer or national orders. However, it wasn't until January 2023 that the national government decided to donate Ukraine's first batch of 40 Marder-1A3 combat infantry wagons. As a result, orders to SZU began to be sent in 2023 to the renovated Marder-1A3, both from the resources of the Bundeswehr and industry.
