Maja Chwalińska advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Singapore. Polka in the quarter-finals most likely beat the above listed Elise Mertens 6:1, 6:2. Taking the 19th place in the planet ranking, the rival failed to find a way for a well-possessed Polish tennis player. For both players, it was the second duel this year – in Roland Garros Polka was besides better.
This is Chwalińska's 3rd triumph at the Singapore Party. She had previously won with Slovak Rebecca Sramkova and Ukrainian Oleksandra Olijnykova.
Chwalińska's rivalry in the semi-finals will find the match of the highest set-up Mirra Andreyeva with Leylah Fernandez. Regardless of the result of the next gathering Polka will advance in the WTA ranking from 25th to 21st place.
