Lukashenko for her seventh word - elections without a chance to change

The election was organised in an atmosphere of deficiency of real competition. Major opposition leaders were imprisoned or forced to go abroad, resulting in their absence in the election process. As a result, only 1 countercandidate was considered real (if this phrase can be utilized here) rival Lukashenko. The exit poll results indicated the dominance of the current president, which was “confirmed” by later authoritative data.
