Remember: there is good mixing in Polish matters and mixing in evil. It is good, for example, erstwhile the European Commission instructs us on the regulation of law. This is out of the question at all. But besides erstwhile US or UK ambassadors compose open letters on the request for progressive support of rainbow trends in our country. besides erstwhile – as I heard late from 1 of the politicians of the erstwhile power camp – the Polish president vetoes the bill through the intervention of the White House. And no, it is not about the most celebrated example, or – otherwise unacceptable – "lex TVN", but about a bill from a completely different field.
Of course, let's be aware that mixing is simply a bit like Schrödinger's cat, which, as you know, could be dead and alive at the same time: it can be desirable and undesirable. For example, the engagement in Polish matters in matters of the regulation of law was undesirable in the opinion of power, but desirable in the opinion of the opposition. And to make things more complicated, remember that not always the same groups are power and opposition. Just think about what kind of intellectual flexibility it takes for politicians to be decently qualified at a given time! Ha, it's a advanced school driving, and not everyone would.
The earlier power, which is present an opposition, any cases of mixing welcome with enthusiasm, although it condemned it a fewer years ago. For example, the Venice Commission utilized to be bad from their point of view, due to the fact that it came to Poland and something there complained about the way the Constitutional Court was appointed, and now it is good due to the fact that it points out the plans of Minister Bodnar. The power – the current 1 – pretends that there is no Venice Commission.
But there are also very interesting cases – for example, the global Criminal Court and its BOLO for Prime Minister Netanyahu. It is besides a kind of mixing in Polish cases, considered unacceptable by both parties, which must be noted as an issue. There will be no ICC here telling us who we should keep in Poland (with which, by the way, I agree completely), even if we signed the statutes of the tribunal.
It is besides possible that tough defenders of sovereignty who avenge Targowice, who would like to draw the attention of EU bodies to us, later themselves to the fronts, complain in Brussels about the violation of the regulation of law, of course erstwhile they are in opposition.
However, it is worth paying attention to the case in a peculiar way. This is in a fresh interview with 4 very carefully selected media – Onetu, TVN24, “Rzeczpospolita” and “Political Critics” – president Volodymyr Zelenski said:
If Ukraine is not in the Union and will not be in NATO, if Ukraine does not have a safety guarantee, then Mr Nawrocki should be practicing by now, due to the fact that it may turn out that he will gotta take arms in order to defend his country together with his fellow countrymen. due to the fact that if Ukraine is not anywhere, then the hazard (war in Poland) will be very high. Russia will then be on the border with Poland and then (Mr Nawrocki) will have not political competitions, but will fight for his life.
Various politicians of the Law and Justice were outraged at this dictum, accusing Mr. Zelensk and, of course, mixing in Polish interior affairs. Of course – right, due to the fact that in fact this is simply a classical example of the rude mixing of abroad state leaders into Polish elections. Another substance is the result. I would alternatively bet that Mr. Zelenski thus managed to make Mr. Trzaskowski's ratings fall by another 2-3 points.
However, it is hard not to feel Schadenfreude towards the bulging politicians of the Law and Justice. To quote Molière: This is l’as voulu, Georges Dandin “You wanted it, Grzegorz Dyndala.” Pisowskie Grzegorze Dyndały may have a problem with, as he says today, combining dots, so I will help: Mr.Zelenski's insolent attitude is simply a direct effect of the Polish line towards Kiev, which became a trademark of the erstwhile power, and he continues it in many respects, although possibly in any respects, by nuance. More for appearance than any real effect.
And it's not even about bullying the lords of Pawel Jabłoński or Stanisław Żaryn, who with Komsomol zeal were guarding pro-Ukrainian enthusiasm. The point is that it is frightening to what degree the representatives or the elite of power cannot foretell the simple consequences of their actions. The behaviour of the president of Ukraine should not be surprising, given the context of common relations between 2022 and 23. individual might say, and it most likely isn't, and the outrage of PiS politicians is just a theatre for voters. You can accept that. However, delight note that this would mean that we have been dealing with something even worse than an intellectual weakness: with a conscious conduct of politics which results in our state being placed in a position of submission to Kiev's interests. However, I like to believe in the simple folly of those who avenge Mr. Zelenski today.
