On June 16, Israeli abroad Minister Israel Katz called the message of the Belarusian president of Jews active in corruption in Belarus "unacceptable and outrageous". He felt that Alexander Lukashenko's words "sound like apparent anti-Semitic comments".

"I asked them to pay attention to Lukashenko's anti-Semitic message and call on the global community and human rights organisations to react". Later, erstwhile addressing Israel Katz: “Thank you, Minister, for responding to my letter.<... >I believe that the Ambassador of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Republic of Belarus in the State of Israel should be sent home.”
