The performance “Memory and Identity” was inaugurated on 9 June at the Shrine of the Holy household at Lublin Chubach XXX global Organ Festival Lublin – Czuba. The anniversary edition of the event is held in the year 39th anniversary of the visit of St John Paul II to Lublin. The festival will last until August 26.
During the evening, artists of global reputation performed. The central character of the performance was Wiesław Ochman, a world-famous tenor, soloist of the Metropolitan Opera in fresh York City. Next to him was Daria Sawczuk, a soprano and a winner of global vocal competitions.
An integral part of the performance was organ and piano music performed by Robert Grudnia. The pianist Radosław Kaliniak besides performed as part of the promotion of young artists.
At the end of the ceremony there was a promotion of Wiesław Ochman's latest book "Artist of Life".
The Lublin – Czuba global Organ Festival has been attracting artists from Poland and abroad to Lublin for years. In erstwhile editions were performed by Małgorzata Walewska, Stanisław Soyka, Zbigniew Preisner, Krystian Ochman, Jerzy Zelnik, Marek Torzewski, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Teresa Żylis-Gara, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Poznań Słowiki, Krzysztof Penderecki and Grażyna Barszczewska.
