Literary patrons of the year 2025 and their relation with royal art

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted a resolution on the patrons of the year 2025 at its 16th gathering on July 24, 2024 – with authors Stefan Żeromski (1864-1925) and Antoni Słonimski (1895-1976).

In 2025 it is the 100th anniversary of the death of Żeromski, 1 of the most prominent Polish writers, the spiritual authority of Polish intelligence of the turn of the 19th/XX century author of short stories, novels, dramas and reports that shaped the national reasoning of many generations of Poles. The explanatory memorandum of the resolution indicated that "Stefan Żeromski was the creator convinced of the crucial function of literature, due to the fact that he believed in the writer's peculiar mission and in his work for shaping the destiny of the nation and Homeland."

443 Members voted in favour of the resolution on Żeromski; 441, against 1 (Confederation), 1 (Confederation), and 17 did not vote in favour of the resolution on Żeromski; 443 voted in favour; 425 against 4 (Confederation), 14 (Confederation), and 17 did not vote in favour.
Both Żeromski (indirectly) and Słonimski (directly) were associated with free-molarism.
His brother-in-law Rafał Radziwiłowicz (1860-1929), a psychiatrist doctor, 1 of the leading Polish free-muralists and 1 of the first Poles in the 20th century, who were admitted to the masonry, played an crucial function in the life of Żeromski, both privately and in his work. Octavia was then the admin of the Medical Department.
Żeromski was younger and poorer than Octavia. erstwhile they met, he worked as a teacher of noble children.
