The number of deaths in the Gaza Strip exceeded 64,000, reported Palestinian services. The war between Israel and Hamas lasted almost 2 years and turned this part of land into a field of death. 1 night, Israeli raids killed 28 people, mostly women and children. Gaza is in ruins. No food, no drugs, no shelter. People sleep in ruins and children starve. However, the offensive continues. You can't see the end.
Hamas announced the readiness to release all hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the release of Palestinian prisoners and the beginning of border crossings. Israel rejects these conditions, announcing further military action until “the full breakdown of Hamas”. Result? More dead bodies, more ruins, more destroyed families. There's no symmetry here. Gaza is not a battlefield — it is simply a victim. Children, mothers, doctors, journalists die. People die who have no way to escape, no place to hide, nothing to hide. Death comes from the air, and the planet only counts bodies.
"This is simply a disaster that Israel could prevent and can end at any time," said WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
According to planet wellness Organisation data, at least 370 people, including 134 children, died of starvation and malnutrition. Over 300 of these deaths have occurred in the last 2 months. The food is waiting on the trucks right next door, but the boundaries are blocked. The UN has declared the state of famine in Gaza, blaming Israel for the "systematic blocking" of aid supplies.
“People are starving while food that could save them is waiting for trucks at a short distance. The most unbearable thing about this man-made catastrophe is that it can be stopped immediately," Ghebreyesus added. “Civil starving as a method of war is simply a crime. She can't be tolerated. utilizing it present creates a dangerous precedent for tomorrow.”
Equally strong was the Deputy Minister and Head of the Belgian MFA, Maxime Prevot, who accused the European Union of complete idleness and hypocrisy.
"The European Union at this phase does not fulfil its commitments to this immense humanitarian disaster. The credibility of EU abroad policy in the eyes of the public is falling apart."
Belgium announced that you would recognise Palestine at the September UN General Assembly and introduce unilateral sanctions against Israel.
"There is simply a moral duty, but there is besides legal imperative. States are parties to global treaties which oblige them to act to prevent genocide. We must be active defenders of global law," Prevot stressed.
Meanwhile, the remainder of the planet is confined to empty appeals. They call for “restraint”, but restraint will not halt the bombs. Not only Gaza dies; the thought of global law dies. If the global community does not take real action, it will not just be a passive witness. She'll be an accessory. This is not a war. These are not “retaliatory actions”. This is genocide. If the planet does not respond now, more children will die in silence, and after them there will be only a number in the next dry message.
