Left at the crossroads: Czarzasty, Nawrocki and State Defence Disputes

Black as a counterpoint against Nawrocki

At the convention of the left, Vladimir Czarzasty announced a "veto for veto" policy, clearly indicating that his group would stand in fierce opposition to president Nawrocki. According to Leszek Jażdzynski, the predictability and stableness of the Black 1 may prove to be an asset at a hard time for the ruling coalition. Jakub Korus emphasized that the left needs a clear leader who will give the speech and make space for the perfect fight for a place in the political center.

Image problem and deficiency of alternatives

The speakers pointed out that the deficiency of an alternate to Czarzaste was due to a limited number of strong candidates in the party. Although names specified as Gawkowski or Dziemianowicz-Bąk appear, there is inactive a deficiency of a figure capable of attracting fresh voters. The right-wing won, but the PiS in the defensive

Jażdżewski noted that the right wing won the final election, but this does not mean the dominance of the PiS – which puts Jarosław Kaczyński in a hard situation. Czarzaty, standing in contrast to Nawrocki, tries to usage this gap, building the left as a credible counterweight to right-wing rhetoric.

New Myths of the Left and the Fight for Youth

Korus pointed out that the left might recover any of the young voters, if they set themselves on a more militant rhetoric – referring to the tradition of PPS and opposition to the "stadional endection". He pointed out that young people do not want a soft left, but 1 that clearly makes demands and does not let the right to dominate the debate.

Coalitions and Emotions of Voters

The press emphasized that the future of the left depends on the coalition arrangement. If the Citizens' Platform decides to cooperate with the Confederate, the Left can be the only clear alternative. However, if the Platform's coalition with the left were formed, the Black 1 group would lose the emotional contact point that would mobilize voters.
