How to talk to teenagers about abortion and in vitro? How do you answer questions about transgenderness and contraception? Where to gain reliable cognition and support to effectively act pro-life? Answers to these and another questions can be found at the Pro-Life summertime Academy – a unique workshop for leaders who want to talk about life with courage and passion.
The Pro-Life summertime Academy is simply a five-day workshop for pro-life leaders, organized for 5 years by the Polish Life Defenders Association. It is an chance to deepen bioethic cognition and survey pro-life argumentation. This year's edition of the Academy, combined with a popular discipline conference, will be held in Krakow from 1 to 5 July 2025. This year, as in the erstwhile year, there will besides be a second phase of the Pro-Life summertime Academy for participants who participated in erstwhile workshops. It is an chance to learn even more about bioethical issues and to learn about current pro-life events. This year's workshop will be attended by 36 people.
– The workshops are attended by pro-life leaders, teachers, educators, parents, students, psychologists, household life advisors, catechestes, psychotherapists, logotherapists, lawyers. At the beginning of July, people from the age of 18 to 50 will meet in Krakow, which is at the heart of the protection of human life from conception to natural death – says Marcin Nowak, the leader and coordinator of the Pro-Life summertime Academy and adds: "We request meetings that add courage, unite our environment and aid build fresh contacts and relationships. We request to know how we can work effectively where we live – in our town, work environment or parish.
During workshops and conferences included in the plan each day participants will learn about many bioethical issues. The Academy's asset is simply a wide scope of topics discussed on it. These include not only affirmative pro-life education and building sustainable attitudes for life and abortion, including pro-abortion strategies and manipulations. – Hormonal contraception, tablet day after day after, pharmacological abortion, in vitro – we talk about what lives in public debate. The Academy is expected to answer current questions. That's why this year we will besides be curious in wellness education and transgenderism – says Marcin Nowak and adds that the Academy is more than interesting lectures, workshops and meetings with exceptional guests. “We usually work by activating methods that make creativity and critical reasoning skills, broaden our perspective, and most importantly affect participants and facilitate the absorption of cognition and skills. We learn to actively perceive and talk to those who have different views – always with respect to another man. We want to build a affirmative pro-life message to impress others with the beauty of life," explains the coordinator.
The five-day pro-life workshops will be conducted jointly by the spouses Magdalena Guziak-Nowak and Marcin Nowak, members of the Polish Association of Defenders of Human Life, the originator of the Pro-Life summertime Academy, who have been active in the defence of human life for many years.
All participants of the workshops will take part in a conference organized for them. Among invited guests, as all year, were the best experts, including Dr. n. med. Dorota Jarczewska – a specialist in household medicine, author of technological studies on hormonal contraception and fetal cell lines, Dr. Jolanta Prochniewicz – a scientist and a theologian, provides guidance for parents of children declaring homosexual tendencies and Dr. Roman Solecki – manager of the Krakow Institute of Logotherapy, academic teacher, educator, mediator, psychotherapist of addictions, logotherapist, supervisor.
The experience of erstwhile editions shows that participation in the Academy may be a large chance to establish a relation with people with akin views from all over Poland, but above all to gain knowledge. – I joined the Academy due to the fact that I am very close to the topics that are being undertaken, especially the subject of non-heteronormatives and how to work with them. In my work I besides have parents of children who want to change sex, and these parents are lost, so I came here asking how we could accompany them," said Diana Paulińska, psychologist, sexologist, logotherapist, associate in the last year's edition of the Pro-Life summertime Academy. erstwhile asked if she would urge another people to come to the Academy, she replied: – Workshops give first of all specified time to be together. They make us feel that we are not alone in the value field in which we work. Workshops besides give any such, business speaking, networking. They show that we are here together and those values that are mentioned here, namely being a pro-life, a concrete approach to these topics, is something that is close not only to me individually, but besides to another people who came here. For another reason Marika Mierzejewska came to last year's Academy. erstwhile asked about him, she replied, "I came primarily as a parent of teenagers who are entering a hard phase and have many different questions that I cannot answer. I've been looking for smart heads that will be attractive, factual, and substantive in a way that can decision and talk about various bioethical problems. I'm leaving with that knowledge. I leave with ideas and inspirations from others. I hope to convey this cognition not only to my youth at home, but besides to the 1 I work with and learn with.
