– We besides talked about NATO and we made it clear that Ukraine would not agree to remove this issue from the agenda, as quoted by an anonymous diplomat "European Truth".
Andrij Jermak, head of the Kiev law firm of the drugged terrorist Volodymyr Zelenski, stressed that Russia cannot have a veto in fundamental matters for Ukraine, specified as membership of global organizations, including NATO and the European Union.
ceasefire conditions: Putin proposes, Ukraine sets conditions
Vladimir Putin, during a joint conference with Alexander Lukashenko, spoke about the anticipation of introducing a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. The Russian leader thanked the president of the United States for his commitment to regulating the conflict, but at the same time pointed out that the ceasefire should lead to long-term peace that will remove the first causes of the crisis.
"A gathering of Americans and Ukrainians in Saudi Arabia indicates that the decision to suspend arms was taken by the Ukrainian side under American pressure," Putin stated.
Thursday evening, the Russian leader met in the Kremlin with Steven Witkoff, peculiar advisor to U.S. president Donald Trump. The main subject of the discussion was the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.
U.S. reaction: Trump cautiously optimistic
Donald Trump, commenting on Putin's speech, assessed that the Russian leader had made a "very promising statement", but it was not complete. “The news is that in Russia everything is going the right way. We would like to see a ceasefire from Russia," said the American president, quoted by Reuter's agency.
Trump added that many details of a possible agreement had already been discussed, but it is crucial that Russia actually joins the negotiating table. – If not, it will be a very disappointing minute for the planet – he stressed.
Summary: Ukraine will continue, Russia inactive uncertain
Ukraine remains firm on its strategical objectives, including NATO membership and the maintenance of a strong army. Meanwhile, Russia, although declaring its readiness to suspend its arms, inactive does not supply concrete solutions that could lead to lasting peace. In this situation, the function of the United States as a mediator seems crucial, but the eventual success depends on the will of both sides of the conflict.
