The Most crucial Promise

It was 1 of Donald Tusk's main commitments. Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski mentioned this thought in the election campaign. 196 Members voted to rise the tax-free amount. They were members of the Confederate and PiS clubs.

The first of these parties took over the Citizen Coalition project, which was the consequence of an unfulfilled promise for the first 100 days of government. However, Jarosław Kaczyński's group prepared 8 laws out of 100 announcements. Apart from the free amount, these included voluntary ZUS, flat-rate wellness contribution, ‘grandmother’, widow’s pension and VAT cash.

In voting on the tax-free amount, the Sejm had an advantage. 238 Members from the KO, 3rd Way and Left Coalition rejected the Confederacy project.

We submitted a proposal requiring the Finance Committee to submit a study on the task to rise the amount of taxation free to PLN 60 1000 in 1 month.

The coalition just turned down the motion. So they want to block work on their own election promise!

Money is missing

Deputy Finance Minister Jarosław Neneman explained a fewer days ago that there was a deficiency of budget resources for implementing the improvement under consideration. In the Sejm, he announced that his club would not support this project, but in due time a separate task would be presented. In his opinion, it will be carefully examined and thoughtful.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk besides took the floor:

We do not quit the task of the free amount of PLN 60 thousand, but this year we are incapable to implement it for budgetary reasons (...) The Minister of Finance is obliged that the amount be free 1 way or another as a consequence of our work – surely not this year and surely before the end of the word of office.

The presently fixed amount, known as the ‘PIT-free quota’, amounts to PLN 30 000. This means that this is an yearly income from which income taxation does not should be paid. The tax-free amount is primarily utilized by taxpayers, mainly workers and entrepreneurs who account for the taxation scale.

Let us remind you that, after taking over power, the postulate, which originally came from the Civic Coalition, was captured by the Confederation. This organization presented a task in the Sejm in November.

However, this proposal was subject to fundamental errors, as were attempts to correct them. Confederate MP Sławomir Mentzen, reporting the situation, stated:

Unfortunately, my coalitions made a mistake, put together a task with a mistake, then made an amendment that seems to have been incorrect again, then most likely another 1 with a mistake again, and I think now yet the revised version will go to the Sejm, so... well, it didn't work out very well. It was expected to be fine, and it was fun.
