KROPS alarms: MEN will return to wellness education. It's the intention of violating parental rights

We do not agree to harm any of the students by introducing optional harmful subject wellness education into Polish schools while at the same time eliminating the subject of education to live in a family," emphasised the Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School. And he adds that Barbara Nowacka's proposition to turn the subject into a compulsory 1 in the next school year is peculiarly dangerous and points to the intention to violate parental rights in the close future!

Under the social force Barbara Nowacka, Minister of Education, declared that the ministry would retreat from the thought of introducing a mandatory subject "health education". But the thought remains – for now in the form of optional lessons. Subsequent decisions are due to be made next year, after evaluation. The goal which MEN seemingly does not want to give up, but simply rejects this fact in time, is the subject's obligation.

The position, in relation to specified MEN announcements, was taken by KROPS, indicating that there was and will not be consent to depravity of pupils in wellness education – whether in the form of work or voluntaryity.

The coalition points out that the request is inactive valid to leave education for general education in a household where sexual education is embedded in the context of matrimony and family. This means that there is no agreement to introduce a fresh subject of wellness education into schools, including sexual education embedded in the context of health. KROPS is besides called upon to respect the constitutional rule of parental parenting priority, by leaving voluntary classes in schools, which include the subject of education in the field of sexual life (sexual education).

"The proposition made by Minister Barbara Nowacka on 16.01 in the RMF broadcast about the planned conversion of the subject to compulsory in the following school year is peculiarly dangerous and points to the intention to violate parental rights in the close future!" the Coalition alarms.

"We have no uncertainty that the current power, after a year of presidential election, again attempts to introduce sexual education into schools as a compulsory course. Therefore, as a Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School, we encourage opposition and a persistent, active attitude of all who are at heart in the interests of Polish youth and respect for parents' educational rights. You can read about examples of activities on our website: www.savingszkole.pl" – we read.

The position was supported by Hanna Dobrowolska, School Protection Movement, Bartosz Kopczyński, Society of Social Knowledge, Agnieszka Pawlik-Regulska, Association of “Teachers for Freedom”, Marek Puzio, Institute for Legal Culture Ordo Iuris, Sebastian Zuber, Association of the Heart of Freedom. The Fr Piotr Skarga Christian Culture Association besides expressed support for KROPS' actions.

Warsaw, 16 January 2025.

KROPS Position
on optional wellness education

In view of the information provided on 16.01.2025 by Minister Barbara Nowacka on the non-obligation of wellness education in 2025. Coalition for Polish Salvation Schools keep their position expressed in a formal petition to the MEN of 21.08.201224 signed by 64 social organizations.

In the petition, we made 3 clear:

1) leaving education for general education in a household in which sexual education is embedded in the context of matrimony and family;

2) not introducing a fresh subject of wellness education into schools, including sexual education embedded in the context of health;

3) respect for the constitutional rule of parenting priority, by leaving voluntary these classes in schools, which cover the subject of education in the field of sexual life (sexual education).

Each of the above points is crucial for educating young generations in a way that does not endanger their peaceful psychophysical improvement and in the spirit of constitutional values, expressed in peculiar in Article 18 of the Polish Constitution. We do not agree to harm any students by introducing optional harmful subject wellness education to Polish schools at
the simultaneous elimination of the subject of education for household life. Minister Barbara Nowacka in his speech on 16.01 in the RMF broadcast, the proposition of the planned conversion of the subject to compulsory in the following school year is peculiarly dangerous and points to the intention of violating parental rights in the close future!

The Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School full shares the position of the Polish Federation of Life defence Movements, expressed by an open letter
to Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak Kamysz on the subject of “Bringing up for life in the family”. In this position, the Federation
notes that the essence of the problem of introducing a fresh subject called "health education" into schools is not only the announced mandatoryness of fresh activities devoted, inter alia, to the subject of sexuality, but besides the removal from the basis of the curriculum of education to household life, in which sexual education is embedded in the context of matrimony and family.

We have no uncertainty that the current power, after a year of presidential elections, is again attempting to introduce sexual education into schools as part of compulsory classes.

Therefore, as a Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School, we encourage opposition and a persistent, active attitude of all who are at heart in the interests of Polish youth and respect for parents' educational rights.
