For the 13th time, Marcin Gortat's star squad will play a charity basketball match with a squad set up by soldiers. They will first execute as NATO squad Air Force. On 13 June in Łódź, Polish soldiers and soldiers from another countries, who are stationed in our country, will face, among others, Sławomir Uznański-Wiśniewski, Piotr Żyła and Mateusz Damiecki.

A charity basketball match will be played again in Łódź, the hometown of Marcin Gortat, the first Pole to play in the American NBA league. The erstwhile basketball player, among others, of the Washington Wizards club, is the main originator of the sporting event promoting basketball and the thought of building respect for soldiers.
Two years ago on the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance, Gortat encouraged the military squad to execute under the name NATO Team. In addition to Polish soldiers, representatives played in it NATO Battalion Combat Group. Last year, the Natian squad was strengthened by Polish specialists. This time the military squad will execute in NATO squad Air Force T-shirts.

A place on Gortata's squad could besides be earned at the bidding. Her winner, who remains anonymous, for the anticipation of playing with stars against soldiers, paid PLN 13,200. The money from this bidding will go to the Cancer Fighters Foundation, which supports people fighting oncological diseases.

As announced by erstwhile NBA basketball player, families of tragically deceased Polish pilots will be honored before the match in the Łódź hall: Col. Pil. Maciej “Slaba” Krakowian and Col. Robert “Killer” Jeł. Gortat will besides thank pilots who transport organs for transplantation within the framework “The Heart Action”.
Guests who go to the game at Atlas Arena will be able to watch a military equipment show outside the hall, you will be able to admire Apache and Black Hawk helicopters. Before the match, Gortata stars will besides participate in a parade on Piotrkowska Street.
