Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish said on Thursday, 13 August 2026 that there was no decision to transfer Ukraine's further missiles to Patriot systems. Conclusions from the U.S. and NATO office come back on a regular basis, but the settlement, if it falls, is to be government.

The motions are, there is no consent

Deputy Prime Minister and head of the MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish confirmed that the Allied States regularly receive requests for further missiles to the Patriot systems for Ukraine. According to Bankier.pl, it is about the conclusions of the United States and NATO Headquarters. However, the Minister made it clear: there is no decision.

This discrimination is essential. Poland can aid Ukraine due to the fact that Russian aggression is simply a real threat to our security. However, it cannot act in reflex mode. Each PAC-3 missile, all supply gap and any decision to transfer equipment must be measured by the interest of the Polish State, not the force of the moment.

Polish shield first

MON reminded in July that the full cost of the grants made to Ukraine amounted to PLN 16.45 billion, of which between 2024 and 2026 it was 1,55 billion PLN. This balance shows the scale of Polish effort. It besides shows why further expectations request to be met with a cool calculation.

The head of the MON said earlier that Poland belongs to a group of six Patriot users with PAC-3 missiles in NATO. This isn't a tiny ammunition warehouse where you can spend your equipment according to political demand. It is part of the shield of the Polish sky, i.e. the safety of families, cities, ports, airports and critical infrastructure.

Therefore, it is worth returning to an earlier line of minister: each donation is to be preceded by an analysis of the General Staff of the Polish Army. This standard must besides apply to subsequent applications for Patriots. The DN reader understands the difference between an alliance and giving up his own failure and benefit account.

NATO wants more ammo.

NATO does not hide that Ukrainian air defence is dependent on a continuous supply of Western resources. Secretary General Mark Rutte said in June that PURL was liable for nearly 90 percent of Ukrainian air defense, including Patriot missiles. It is simply a hard fact and at the same time an emergency signal for Europe.

If Ukraine's safety strategy is based on western warehouses, then each border country must defender its own reserves twice. Poland has a peculiar position. The border with war, we are a logistics hub, we have the experience of Russian provocations and hybrid attacks. In specified a place, defence policy cannot be an image gesture.

This is why the Patriots for Ukraine The most crucial question is not only what Kiev needs, but how much it can give Warsaw without prejudice to the Polish shield. That's a fair measure. Everything else is moralizing at the expense of a payer and a soldier.

Alliance requires reciprocity

Poland has no work to prove that it is on the side of Europe's security. He has been doing so since the beginning of Russian aggression: with equipment, training, logistics and political support. But that is why Warsaw has the right to require its allies to be full transparent, to rapidly replenish stocks and to treat Polish safety as a substance of first rank.

The same applies to relations with Ukraine. Military aid is intended to weaken Russia due to the fact that Russia is an enemy of our part of Europe. However, it must not turn into a unilateral mechanics in which Poland surrenders its abilities and in return receives thanks and further expectations. Cooperation must be partnership.

The decision must stay in Warsaw

The most crucial information is so simple: another decision about Patriot missiles was not made. It is simply a good thing that it did not fall outside the Polish government, but for the assessment of the military and outside the state safety account.

Poland is not about turning distant from Ukraine. It is to aid so that Poland does not weaken. In this case, the impulse of the heart must give way to state reason. That's what sovereignty requires.
