After the crisis in the Republic of Poland after the 17th century wars and the Northern War (1700–1721), the state was in a state of permanent legislative paralysis and the general crisis. In addition, the state was no longer full sovereign, but was dependent on external influences, at least on the overthrow of Stanisław Leszczyński and the seat on the throne of August III after Russian intervention.
