During his visit to Scranton, president Joe Biden's hometown, Zelenski met with Democratic Party's leading politicians, including Pennsylvania politician Josh Shapiro. For Republicans, and especially for announcer Mike Johnson, this was a situation that they called “interference in elections”. According to Johnson, Zelenski's visit was intended to support the Democratic candidate in the race for the presidential seat.
