According to information provided by Warmia-Masurian provincial wellness inspector Janusz Dziska, the man was admitted to the infirmary on 23 March for reasons another than signs of diphtheria. The patient was sampled to verify suspicion of infection.
Research will show if the strain is toxic.
The man most likely had no contact with a individual infected with diphtheria from Wrocław. However, an interview cannot be collected due to the fact that he is unconscious.
