The framework agreement concluded is only an introduction to Portugal's acquisition of the latest version of the French export hit, the cannonhaubica CAESAR. The contract was written in Rio Diz City Park during the EXPO EXÉRCITO exhibition on the occasion of Portuguese Army Day. The event was attended, among others, by Portuguese Minister of Defence Dr. Nuno Melo, French Ambassador to Portugal Dr. Hélène Farnaud-Defromont, manager of global improvement of the General Directorate for Armed Forces of the French Republic (DGA) General Diaz da Tuesta and manager General of Defence Resources of Portugal, Dr. Vasco Hilário. The value of the framework agreement has not been given, but its backing is to be provided from a fund of a full value of EUR 60 million with the presumption of their release by 2026.
