During the celebration of the Polish Army on 15 August, president Karol Nawrocki appealed for strengthening the defence independency of Poland. “We cannot put our safety in a safe to which the keys are in another capitals,” the president stressed.
The central point of the celebration of the Polish Army was, as all year, the Warsaw defilade, which was attended by nearly 2,000 soldiers, 300 vehicles and respective twelve aircraft. In Gdynia, on the another hand, there was a naval parade attended by about 20 Navy units.
Speaking to the assembled, president Nawrocki stressed that the experience of the 1920 war shows how crucial it is that Poland has control over its own security. "We cannot lock our safety in a safe to which the keys are in another capitals of Europe, even those friendly, even those important," said Karol Nawrocki. He besides critically referred to the recognition of the armed forces with “foreign adjectives” of the SAFE type, recalling the conventional values of the Polish Army: “God, Honor and Homeland”.
The president besides called for a cross-party approach to safety issues. He noted that the threat did not separate political sympathy. At the same time, he assured that as head of the armed forces he would guarantee the execution of contracts concluded by the erstwhile government. He besides declared support for the valuable projects of the current squad so that they would not be abandoned after subsequent parliamentary elections.
