As the Russian media have been reporting since morning citing the FSB, an effort to assassinate the metropolitan of Symferopol and Crimean Tichon (Szewkunov) was thwarted in Moscow. The attack was to be carried out by his close associate and clergyman, who, according to Russian services, were recruited by Ukrainian military intelligence. The plan was intricate and its implementation almost came to fruition.
