“Russia calls on Poland to reconsider its decision to close the border with Belarus and take into account possible consequences,” said Russian MFA spokesperson Maria Zacharowa on Thursday, quoted by TASS.
Kierzinski responded to Zachorov's words
Zacharowa described the actions of Warsaw as "a destructive step". Marcin Kierwiński was asked about the consequence to this message at night in Terespol. The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs appeared there after the movement on the Polish border with Belarus was suspended.
“We are doing this due to the safety of our citizens. Russia has been aggressive towards Poland in fresh days and has been aggressive towards the full civilized planet for many years. Taking care of the safety of our citizens, we are forced to make specified a decision," Kierzinski replied.
Let us add that the closure of all border crossings with Belarus was announced earlier by Donald Tusk. As he explained, this has to do with the beginning of aggressive Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025". During the last conference Kierzinski said that these manoeuvres are aimed "in Poland, in the European Union".
This provision will stay "until further notice".
– This decision will be resumed, but only if we are certain that the safety of Poles is guaranteed, that they do not endanger us with any provocations, do not endanger us with any aggressive behaviour. Of course, due to economical issues, we will do everything we can to make this closing period as short as possible. But the decision I signed, the decision to close border crossing points, is simply a decision without giving a period, a decision to appeal – Kierzinski explained.
