With 3 medals, Polish representatives return from the planet Shooting Championship held in Cairo. The master title was won by Fr Tomasz Bartnik, who was unstoppable in the competition by a 300 m firearm from 3 positions. The shooter of the Central Military Sports squad along with his colleagues besides scored 2 bronze discs in squad rivalry.
A multimedia player of the Cairo championship in the gold medal fight with a consequence of 594 points (199 in a kneeling position, 198 – in a lying and 197 – in a standing) leveled the planet record. Fr Tomasz Bartnik overtook Péter Sidi's Hungary, which included the best consequence on the world's lists, and Swiss Pascal Bachmann. The silver medalist gained 591 points and the bronze – 589.15th place was taken by specials Maciej Kowalski (583 points), and the 23rd by Wiktor Sajdak (569). In the squad classification of the White-Red with a score of 1746 points shot bronze medal. The first place with 1762 points were taken by Swiss and the second by Austrians. Poles were short of 4 eyes in bronze.
The second bronze disc in the squad rivalry Polish representatives won in the competition a 300 m firearm of 50 shots lying. They shot in the lineup: Bartnik, Kowalski and Andrzej Burda. Our shooters scored 1780 points. Only 4 eyes were short of silver. The championship title was won by the Czechs with a score of 1787 points and the Swiss runner-up.
The sergeant was besides close to the medal in Cairo. Karolina Romańczyk, who in the competition of the firearm 3 300 m stances took 5th place (she ran out of 2 meshes for the medal), and a squad of women in the competition of the firearm 50 m lying. Polki – in the line-up: prof. Natalia Kochanska, prof. Julia Piotrowska and Maja Gawenda – ended the competition in 4th place. Our representatives only lacked 1.2 points to the podium. In individual competition, Kochanska was best placed with Poles, who with the consequence 623.3 points placed in sixth position.
The sixth place was besides occupied by Fr Tomasz Bartnik in the open competition in the firearm standard at 300 m. It is worth to add that corporal with CGM In Cairo, he won the planet champion title for the 3rd time in his career. For the first time on the highest phase of the podium he stood in South Korean Changwon in 2018 – triumphed in firing a firearm of any of the 3 pitches at 50 m. On the another hand, 3 years ago, besides in Cairo, with the capital of Karolina Kowalczyk (now Romańczyk) won the rivalry of mixed pairs in firing a firearm from 300 m.
Poland ranked 11th in the medal classification of the championship. The Chinese triumphed and won 12 gold discs, 7 silver ones and 2 brown ones. The second place was represented by South Korea (7 – 3 – 4) and the 3rd represented by India (3 – 6 – 4). On the podium were gunmen from 23 countries.
