The leader of the right-wing AUR party, George Simion, won 33.1% of the vote in the first circular of the presidential election in Romania, due to the exit poll conducted by the CURS centre and announced at 21 Romanian time, just after the closing of the polling stations. The second place was taken by Crin Antonescu, a candidate for the ruling coalition (PSD-PNL-UDMR) with a score of 22.9%, and the 3rd was an independent candidate Nicușor Dan – 20.9%. The turnout was advanced both in the country and among the Romanian diaspora.
